ARLIS/NA MOQ has the pleasure of informing you about the Professional Development Awards for 2026.
All applications must be received by March 20, 2026. The award winners will be notified by March 27, 2026. Questions may be directed to the members of the committee at the addresses below.
MICHELLE GAUTIER TRAVEL AWARD
Purpose: to promote professional development by offsetting the early bird* registration fee to the 54th Annual ARLIS/NA Conference to be held in Montreal, May 2-8, 2026.
Note that the award recipients have the choice to either contribute a text for MOQDOC related to the conference, or to give a public presentation about their conference experience in the context of a MOQ activity.

INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLY – MICHELLE GAUTHIER TRAVEL AWARD(S)
Purpose: to promote professional development by supporting participation in the ARLIS/NA Annual Conference.
Eligibility:
* applicants must be a member of ARLIS/NA and ARLIS/NA MOQ to attend the conference;
* applicants must be unable to receive full institutional funding for travel to the conference (if applicable);
* preference is given to applicants who are first-time attendees and/or who are involved in the conference program, i.e. presenting a paper, serving as moderator or recorder of a session, serving on an ARLIS/NA committee, etc.;
* the award is open to all members, including student members; however, members of the Professional Development Awards Committee are excluded;
* the award may not be given in the same year to the winner of an ARLIS/NA Travel Award;
* the recipients have the choice to either contribute a text to MOQDOC related to the conference, or to give a public presentation about their conference experience in the context of a MOQ activity.
To apply: Please send a resume and a letter of intention by e-mail including the following:
* your library experience;
* your experience in ARLIS;
* any other information that you feel is relevant to assess your needs;
* the extent to which you and your employer (if applicable) can contribute financially to the travel and living expenses.
The submissions will notably be evaluated in regards to your contribution – current and planned – to the activities of the chapter, as well as the demonstrated link between your participation in the conference and achieving your professional activities, as well as your planned implication within ARLIS.
Criteria that will be evaluated by the Professional Development Awards Committee by order of importance:
* active contribution to ARLIS/NA or ARLIS/NA MOQ;
* benefits of ARLIS/NA and/or ARLIS/NA MOQ;
* previous participation at the ARLIS/NA conference;
* contribution to the conference;
* previously obtained travel grants.
