ARLIS/NA, ARLIS CANADA and ARLIS MOQ : what’s the difference?
ARLIS/NA, Art Libraries Society of North America is the North American organization, which covers Canada, the United States and Mexico. Joining ARLIS/NA allows additional benefits such as reduced conference fees, a subscription to the official journal Art Documentation and opportunities to connect with professionals across North America.
To be a full voting member of ARLIS MOQ, one must hold membership in both ARLIS/NA and ARLIS MOQ. Voting members are entitled to participate in chapter events, apply for professional development awards and to a vote in practical and policy decisions that affect the association.

The ARLIS/NA Canada Chapter of the Art Libraries Society of North America represents Canadian art information professionals within ARLIS/NA and serves as their national association.
The Chapter fosters communication among art and architecture librarians and archivists, visual resources professionals, artists, curators, educators, publishers, and other art information professionals across Canada. Membership is open to all Canadian members of ARLIS/NA and all other interested ARLIS/NA members.

ARLIS MOQ is the Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec chapter of the Art Libraries Association of North America and was founded in 1987 as the first Canadian chapter. The chapter’s goals are to promote the ideals and ideas of ARLIS/NA in the local and regional context.
Our membership is composed of librarians, archivists, students and curators who work in art libraries, special collections and visual resources in the Montreal-Ottawa-Québec region.
